One of the bittersweet parts of raising animals is knowing when it's time for them to start a new chapter.
This month, our sweet Embers officially retired from our breeding program and headed off to a wonderful new home in the mountains. After blessing us with many beautiful kids, she's earned a life of relaxing, grazing, and being spoiled.
The best part? She didn't have to go alone!
Her grandson, Boogie, made the trip with her, so the two of them will have each other as they settle into their new home. We couldn't have asked for a better ending for Embers or a better beginning for Boogie.
We'll certainly miss seeing them around the farm every day, but knowing they're together in such a loving home makes it much easier to say goodbye.
Happy retirement, Embers! We hope you and Boogie enjoy every minute of your mountain adventure.
